Our team of experienced professional tradesman have extensive knowledge of construction from the foundations and the ground they sit on right through to the ridge at the top of the roof.

Most of our tradesmen have many years in the industry; this experienced team has been put together over many years so you, the client, can now benefit from our experience and hard work.

At South London Renovations Ltd, we specialise in carpentry contracting to the new build construction industry. With over 30 years as a qualified carpenter, our founder and director, Joe Murtagh, has experience in all types of carpentry and indeed construction in general.

We aim to supply top class carpenters to the medium size construction companies and developers. We see ourselves as the perfect sub-contractors for developments of between 5 and 50 units. The majority of our carpenters work on a price work basis, which means they are self-motivated individuals who have it in their own interest to complete the projects in good time and fashion. Every dwelling we work in is quality controlled by our expert foremen. We check every plot to ensure the highest standards are maintained, meaning once you have employed us you no longer have to worry about such things.

We work with all aspects of carpentry:

1st fix: Truss-roofs, cut and pitch roofs, flat roofs, timber frame buildings, structural stud work, stud partitions, window boards, staircases, windows, doors and frames.

2nd fix: Installation of doors, architraves, door stops, skirting, wood floors.

Finals: All types of ironmongery fitted, closers, door handles, shower screens, bath panels etc.

We keep our management structure to a minimum; there are no board of directors here with hefty salaries and cars to match. We don’t run plush offices which you would pay for with inflated prices. We run a basic yet efficient organised office which helps keep our overheads down and thus give better prices to our clients. Residential Extensions and Loft Conversions

Loft Conversions

With space in London at such a premium, it makes sense to use all you have available. Our loft conversions will let you make the most of your house, be it a bedroom, office, bathroom, or all of these together. Our loft conversion service starts with a free survey of your existing loft. We can abstain whether or not you will require planning permission 9Many lofts can be completed under the Permitted Development rule, up to 40 cm³ for a terraced property, 50 cm³ for a semi-detached or detached property. We can then commission drawings to your specific requirements, by our design partners.

When work starts, your loft will be built using professional, qualified tradespeople. All electrics will be installed by a NICEIC-Registered electrician. All gas work will be installed by a registered gas-safe plumber.

A building notice will be issued to the council before work starts and a building control officer will inspect all work as it proceeds, giving you peace of mind. All our work is completed to the highest industry standards, every loft is tailored to your specific needs. You can have fitted cupboards in the eaves, a fitted bath or shower room, en-suite or separate. You might also like a designer lighting system or a built-in audio/visual system. The only limits are your imagination.


If you need more lower floor space, one of our extensions may be just what you need. We can provide both single and two-story extensions, for that dream kitchen or extended family room. We look after the whole process, from foundation to decoration and completion.
